Michele Warner loves to paint the simple everyday subjects and animal life that surround her on her Appalachian Mountain farm that she shares with her artist husband, James, their two children, three horses, many goats, chickens, dogs and cats.

Graduating from Kendall School of Design with a major in illustration, Michele went on to study at The Slade School of Art, at the University of London. She continues taking workshops from artists that she admires.

For 15 years she lived and worked in Dallas, Texas. In Dallas she worked for the well-known illustrator Bart Forbes, which was a valuable experience. As a freelance illustrator, Michele worked for corporate and editorial clients such as American Airlines, Boy's Life, American Girl, Frito-lay, EDS, Neiman-Marcus, JC Penny, etc.

Today her work can be found in many corporate and private collections. After years of working in pastels, Michele fell in love with oils.

Today, you could find her out in some mountain landscape painting "plein-air" or in her studio working on a landscape, figure painting, still life, commissioned portrait, or illustrating a story for a book or magazine.

Michele Warner is not only an incredible artist, but she is a dream to work with. My husband and I have were so pleased with her first portrait of our sons that we bought a second one! We are very "detail-oriented" people and were relieved that the portraits look EXACTLY like our boys. We would recommend Michele to anyone!

Commissioning Michele Warner to paint a portrait of our daughter Kendall and her pony is one of the smartest things we have ever done. Our portraits are treasures... If our house ever catches on fire, make sure the kids are out, then grab our paintings and run! We have loved Michele's work so much that we have discovered "You can't own just one." We have several. She is able to capture not only our daughters' likeness, but also her spirit, Michele is able to bring them to life with the tip of her paintbrush. Her paintings are dances with light. If you have a treasured moment, or would like to remember your child and their "best friend", I would recommend Michele Warner. I would tell also you to hire her quickly, before she realizes what she is really worth!

Michele to do a painting of all 5 of our dogs - which isn't an easy task. She came to our home and patiently photographed each one, trying to capture each dog's personality. After several shoots she put together a photo and then we tweaked it even more to get it just right for our living room mantle. Michele was so patient and caring and she really wanted to get the painting exactly the way we wanted it and she was successful! We love it!

I have four paintings by Michele Warner and have purchased five others over the past eight years or so. This painter can do anything! I have portraits, still lifes, and landscapes, and I continue to be surprised at the brilliant diversity of her work. Landscapes and portraits both seem to capture the soul of the subject. The consistent thread throughout Michele's artwork is the stunning attention to detail and remarkable rendering of light play and patterns. Another quality the paintings have in common is the element of "comfort." Michele's paintings are not disturbing. Whether the image is a wheelbarrow, a thistle in sunlight, a rustic covered bridge, a child with a horse, or a jacketed architect with a steaming cup of coffee; the sense conveyed is affirming of the warmest and best feelings we have in this life. We feel good when we look at these paintings, and I think it has to do with the heart that produces them.
I am enormously happy with every piece of work I possess and/or have purchased from this artist.

You absolutely can not go wrong with Michele Warner. Michele's kind and caring nature is evident in the effort she puts into her work. She is not only a superb technical artist but, more important, she has the unique ability to truly capture the spirit and personality of her subject. I am very happy with my painting of Cricket, my Jack Russell Terrier, and I can't wait to have Michele paint my other "kids."

You created family heirlooms. We now have paintings with their own individual stories to tell that will be told over and over.

The detail is remarkable.

Once the painting is done, you can't believe you've lived without it. It's an essential part of our home. It's what I would grab if my house was burning.
